Reviews

This is the best tour company we ever used, and we are forever converted to Colibri. First, we LOVED the small group. It was 16 of us and this is so much better than the big group tours. Try it and you will be shocked what a colossal difference it makes. Second, everything was so thoughtful and well organized. Hotels were beautiful and centrally located with delicious breakfasts. Local tour guides were outstanding. The dinner with fado music was a nice surprise, the port wine tour in the valley was incredible. The other thing I am really grateful for is that it was an amazing value for the money as almost everything was included (except for a couple of meals). My wife and I took many group tours in the past with big companies and you can clearly tell the difference. We were usually packed in big buses, there were so many extra charges for a la carte additional tours. That is NOT the case with Colibri Travel & Tours. We got way more than we expected.

Scenery was incredible. Food, wine, and all the sights also to die for. This company really pours lots of love in organizing this Portugal tours and adds lots of little touches. For example, we arrived in Belem and stopped to taste local pastry in the bakery where they were invented. The hotels they chose reflected local flavors. In one location we stay in a monastery that was converted to a beautiful, boutique hotel. This is the first tour I’ve been on where we went to a restaurant and we could either try so many different dishes family style or choose our own entree. Way better than everyone having to eat the same thing like on other tours. Our tour director was kind, friendly and funny. Best tour ever, don’t hesitate to sign up!

In a nutshell, I would return to Portugal anytime as there is just too much to see and do. The country is definitely underrated. As beautiful as Spain, but less expensive. The tour itself was phenomenal! Thanks to our tour director and other travelers, after day one we felt like old friends traveling together. I will stay in touch with many of the people I met on this trip. My favorite part was the little town of Obidos and of course the wine tour in Douro Valley. I love this company’s philosophy to travel with minimal environmental impact, not waste food, and buy locally made souvenirs and products. I already signed up for Cuba tour with Colibri Travel & Tours.

Great Portugal tours! We enjoyed Portugal, food, and our tour guides!

From the moment we arrived we were well taken care of. Our group was small and our tour leader excellent. We tried everything from Portuguese pastry, to port flavored ice cream with everything else in between. A highlight was the winery visit in the Porto region, but then another highlight was the night in a monastery. We only wish we could spend more time in each destination.I highly recommend Portugal tours with Colibri Travel & Tours!
